So, it is perhaps true to say that quite a few of us are not wearing the best-fitting bras. We just pick a few off the pegs, try them on, and leave the store with a smile knowing that we have got a few bras that fit and will provide the best support. The reality is unless you get a bra fitting and have an experienced bra fitter to measure you out, you are probably not wearing the best bra for your needs. The question is, how do you know if your bra fits?
In this episode, I have a conversation with Julie Blanche who is an expert bra fitter. And we go deep into the world of bras and talk about so many important topics. You don’t know what you don’t know, and so at the end of this episode, I guarantee that you would have learned something new about the garment we wear every day of our lives.
We cover a broad range of topics, but what you will learn from this episode includes:
- What the measurements all mean?
- The different types of bras.
- Tips and tricks of achieving symmetry post breast surgery
- What is the best way of putting on a bra?
- What is the best way of washing your bra
- The signs that tell you that your bra doesn’t fit
Getting a well-fitting bra at the best of times can be challenging. If you have had surgery, this can be even more difficult. We talk about how you can achieve symmetry in the bra following a mastectomy. Breast asymmetry can also happen when you have had breast conservation surgery or even a mastectomy with reconstruction. Julie gives some tips and tricks that can help mitigate the asymmetries that although may not be that pronounced, can still cause problems.
